Here are some things to remember when planning your photo session.
Do...
Wear simple, solid colored outfits, tradional styles rather than trendy.
Shoes should compliment your clothing.
Makeup should be applied as normal, extra emphasis on the eyes and lips.
Jewelry should be kept to a minimum. Class rings for seniors is okay.
Keep suntans to a minimum.
Bring a brush, comb and powder to keep shine down.
Men need to shave just prior to photo session to avoid the "5 o'clock shadow".
Bring accent pieces for your clothing i.e. scarves, belts, hats.
For seniors, always check with your yearbook advisors on specific dress code requirements.
Don't...
Don't use body glitter.
Avoid clothing that is revealing i.e. low cut, too short.
Don't wear bold patterns in clothing, i.e. stripes, flowers,
it draws attention away from your face.
No bare shoulders or arms. This type of clothing makes some people look heavy.
Avoid drastic hairstyle changes prior to photo session.
Please, no spray tans. This type of tanning will make you appear orange in your portraits.
Too sunburned or peeling. Reschedule your session.
Avoid large, shiny jewelry and large pendants.
Make sure clothing fits well, not too tight or too big.
Eyeglasses, wear contacts if you have them. Also, bring your eyeglasses anyway, we can use them as a prop in your portraits.
